No referral is required to book an appointment, or to make a claim with private health insurers. If you are using a GP Care Plan, a referral is required for Medicare rebates.
-
Yes. Most private health funds cover women's health physiotherapy under physiotherapy extras and allow a claim to be made at the time of your appointment. Rebates and limits vary, so we recommend checking with your fund directly.

Your appointment will begin with a detailed discussion about your symptoms, medical history, lifestyle, and goals. With your consent, your appointment may include an internal vaginal examination to assess pelvic floor muscle function. This process will be explained clearly during your appointment, and you are always in control.
You will then be provided a tailored plan which may include exercises and lifestyle changes to help you to manage your issue.
Initial consultations are typically 45–60 minutes, allowing time for assessment, education, and treatment. Follow-up appointments are usually 45 minutes.
